2026 Grantmaking Update: Deepening Our Commitment to Health Equity
2026 Grantmaking Update: Deepening Our Commitment to Health Equity
As we enter 2026, we are evolving our grantmaking approach for deeper, more sustained impact on health equity in our service region. Since 2020, we have responded boldly to the health needs of our region by directing 8-10% of our Foundation’s assets annually to support these communities. We are now deepening that commitment through long-term investments in partnerships and approaches that support systemic change.
After thoughtful consideration, we will not open a new annual cycle in 2026. This means that we will not be accepting new or returning applications for one-year grants this year. We remain committed to our current 2025 grants and are focusing on:
- Our current multi-year partnerships, which give organizations stability for sustained impact.
Strengthening community power—a critical determinant of health—so that residents most impacted by inequities can lead solutions and drive change in the systems that influence their well-being, including housing, food access, and other conditions of daily life.
- Deeper relationships where we can walk alongside our partners over time.
We have learned that achieving health equity requires more than improving access to care. It demands transforming the systems that influence health and addressing the root causes of inequities. Systemic change takes time, trust, and sustained commitment to support the community-led change we all want to see.
We value the critical work happening across our service region and want to stay connected and responsive to what is unfolding in our communities. We are exploring how we can continue to support the broader health ecosystem in our region, from connecting organizations to other funders and sharing resources, to convening around shared challenges or issue areas.
We encourage you to stay connected with us:
Thank you for your partnership, your interest in this work, and your commitment to health equity in our region. We look forward to staying in conversation and learning together.
