Amalia Rioja has more than 25 years of professional success in law, government, business, and civic affairs. At Rioja, LLC, Amalia provides legal and business strategy services for clients with needs in the areas of government services, public-private partnerships, and community relations. Amalia also serves as Of Counsel at Hoke LLC. In her practice, she represents governmental entities and private parties in connection with government projects, including public-private partnerships for social and economic infrastructure.
She previously was an attorney with Baker & McKenzie, Deputy Chief of Staff to Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, Public Access Counselor to Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan, and Deputy General Counsel to Illinois Comptroller Dan Hynes. During her tenure as Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Quinn, Amalia oversaw and managed the portfolio of more than 20 state agencies, including the Department of Insurance, the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, the Department of Revenue, and the Illinois Lottery.
